Ready, Set, Move!

Main Point: SHARE what Jesus did

Bible Story: ACTS 2

What makes you want to click “Share”? Is it that gorgeous portrait of a sunrise with the Bible verse of the day that spoke right to your heart? Is it a viral video about an adorable brand-new baby hippopotamus? Or maybe it’s another hilarious meme where Kermit the Frog aptly expresses exactly how you feel.

Whatever it may be, the act of sharing anything these days is more accessible than ever before. Whether it’s on social media or sending a quick text, sharing anything we want has become a routine piece of daily life for most of us. But typically, we only choose to share things that hold some sort of value. A photo. Inspiring words. Our political beliefs. A song we love. Sometimes, we may even be guilty of oversharing.

So why is it that in a world where it’s completely normal to share everything under the sun, it can still be difficult to share what Jesus did? Any believer would agree that what He did on the cross was the most significant event that ever happened. However, so many of us are consumed with reluctance when it comes to sharing it with those around us.

Perhaps the problem is that sometimes we overthink it. We agonize over what others might think about us, or we worry about whether we will explain things the right way. So often, we forget that if we truly have a relationship with Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit to help us. And while He did instruct us to go and tell, He didn’t expect this to look exactly the same in every single circumstance.

Much like we can share photos, memes, and songs on a wide array of platforms, we can also share what Jesus did in so many different ways. When we step in to provide for someone in need, we are sharing what Jesus did. When we take time to sit with a friend who is hurting, we are sharing what Jesus did. When we give of our time, talents, and treasure, we are sharing what Jesus did.

As you prepare for the day, take a moment to remind yourself of the significance of what Jesus

did for you. Thank Him for putting people in your life who were willing to share with you. Ask God to help you find ways to connect with the ones you’re with, and share what He did through your words and actions. 1
