How to Be Sustained in the Midst of Struggle

Behold God is my helper. The Lord is the one who sustains me. [Psalm 54:4]

God is THE ONE. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. It is God who is in charge, ultimately. And, as a result, we can never forget that THE ONE we need -- to move, to provide direction, and provision -- above all others is THE LORD.

The great news is that God is not only going to give us help, He also arrives with sustaining power. This promise is significant because of the meaning of the word sustained, “prolonged without interruption.”

When utilized by a skilled musician, the sustain pedal on a keyboard or piano holds the right notes at the right times and creates a beautiful song. Likewise, our God has the ability to create a beautiful song out of what the enemy meant for evil by sustaining us in the right places at the right time.

Everything we are facing right now feels so choppy. So interrupted. But, now, as never before, we must invite God to bring His help and put His sustaining power at work in our homes, lives, and businesses. And, if invited, He will show up.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. [2 Chronicles 7:14]
